Hello

My name is Emma, and I’m a restaurant executive and hospitality tech consultant based in upstate NY, with a career that’s spanned NYC, London, and more than a few memorable stops along the way. I started working in restaurants in NYC when I was 15, and never really stopped. In 2009, I moved to the UK to attend the University of London. After graduating, I stayed to work with incredible chefs and restaurateurs like Richard & Oliver Gladwin and Michelin-starred Chef Adam Byatt, before returning to the States to work with James Beard Award-winner Gabrielle Hamilton.

In 2018, I joined Boqueria as Chief of Staff and later became Director of Business Systems. I spent seven years there building out our data and analytics infrastructure, scaling operational processes, and overseeing tech implementation as the company grew across the country.

From there, I leaned fully into what I do best: solving complex operational challenges at the intersection of data, systems, and technology. I’ve led major transformations for multi-unit restaurant brands — from platform migrations to automation strategy to tech stack overhauls — always with a focus on real-world usability and long-term impact.

In 2025, I launched Make it Make Sense to bring that work directly to the teams who need it most — combining sharp technical insight with a deep understanding of how hospitality actually works.

My work is about simplifying complexity, making data useful, and helping teams scale their systems the right way: for their guests, their teams, and their bottom lines.

Along the way, I’ve had the chance to speak at events like the National Restaurant Show, FAB, and the James Beard Financial Literacy Workshop for Women. I’ve been featured in publications like Nation’s Restaurant News, Hospitality Tech, Expedite, and FSR Magazine, and I currently serve as Vice Chair of the NYC Chapter of the New York State Restaurant Association. In 2024, I was honored to be named one of FSR’s 40 under 40 Rising Stars in the Hospitality Industry.

When I’m not deep in dashboards or tech strategy, you’ll find me cooking, writing, hiking, blacksmithing (yep), or hanging out upstate with my husband, our hound dogs Oberon and Titus, our pig Puck, and a rotating cast of chickens and ducks.

Say Hello!
